The Pediatric Orthopedic and Scoliosis Division addresses the unique musculoskeletal needs of growing children and adolescents. Childhood injuries or disease may alter or impede growth; Rady Children's Hospital orthopedists work to ensure each child's optimal lifetime function.
Our pediatric orthopedic specialists provide individualized assessment, early diagnosis, and appropriate treatment for all pediatric and adolescent orthopedic problems.
have completed a Fellowship in Pediatric Orthopedics, which is an additional year of specialty training after completion of an orthopedic residency. This advanced training is focused completely on the diagnosis and treatment of orthopedic problems in children from birth to 18 years of age. In addition, the Children's Orthopedic Division is the only orthopedic group in San Diego County who practices full-time pediatric orthopedics. By devoting their entire careers to the care of children, they are able to focus on the unique orthopedic problems of childhood and adolescence.

Services are enhanced by the pediatric imaging services at Rady Children's Hospital. The ability to provide advanced biomechanical analysis is available through the Rady Children's Hospital Motion Analysis Laboratory, which is under orthopedic direction.
Delivery of clinical care is coordinated with teaching and research to enhance the quality of care given to patients. The physicians in this division have produced over 300 publications in scientific literature and medical textbooks. Their active participation and leadership positions in many professional organizations devoted to the care of children help to ensure that the most up-to-date orthopedic care is provided to all of their patients.
